An ideal opportunity to find out more about the role\, how to become a foster care and what the pay and rewards look like. \nAs a foster carer\, you’ll receive a competitive weekly reward and allowance\, ongoing training and 24/7 support from a dedicated social work team\, so you’re never on your own. \nHow it works\n1. Initial enquiry – chat with our team to find out if fostering could be right for you\n2. Information session – learn about the different types of fostering and what’s involved day-to-day\n3. Application – complete a formal application and initial checks\n4. Assessment – a trained assessor works with you over several weeks to explore your background\, skills\, and home environment\n5. Panel – your assessment is reviewed by an independent fostering panel\, who make a recommendation\n6. DESCRIPTION:During this one hour session\, you’ll learn about the role of a foster carer and the different types of foster care placements\, the application process\, allowance\, training and support available to our foster carers here in Reading\, plus so much more. \nThese online sessions will be hosted via Microsoft Teams\, so please register your interest by emailing us at foster@brighterfuturesforchildren.org and we’ll send the joining link.
